After receiving a used 20 GB (color) iPod as a gift, I quickly realized that the shiny metal back of the unit was very easily scratched. As a result, I resolved to get myself a case. Unfortunately, since I received the unit well after the introduction of the iPod w/video, my selection of cases was wanting. After a very unfortunate experience with a rubberized silicone case (that seemed to attract every speck of dirt within a 3 mile radius), I purchased this microfiber sleeve.
Wow. Just. . .wow.
I’m not hard on my iPod. I don’t need the über-strong, can-stand-up-to-a-herd-of-stampeding-buffalo case. I simply needed a case that A.) looked nice, and B.) would keep the iPod from being scratched. This sleeve was exactly what I needed. The microfiber works perfectly, allowing me to scroll and adjust the volume without any issues. The vinyl screen efficiently protects the screen and allows for a perfect view. It’s easy to put on, but doesn’t fall off of the unit. For the record, there is also a three-pack available where the sleeves come in blue, red, and black–but even the blue (which is my least favorite of the colors) looks fabulous on the unit. I’d recommend this case to anyone looking to protect the iPod without using a clunky (and often expensive) case.
