CD Players and Electronics

It wasn’t long ago that the car CD player was a must have item in your car. To many of us it still is. Many new cars come with CD players and it is a great addition to the car radio. It gives you the choice to listen to your own CD collection rather than the radio. As many of us know, a lot of radio in the evenings is aimed at smaller niche listeners so to take your own choice of music with you is essential.

Music is great for setting the mood, so it is a good tool to help you drive better if used properly. If you choose rousing, fast music, the chances are you might end up speeding. If you choose really restful music, you might fall asleep. So choose something that is calming or something you can sing along to keep you alert and not stressed.

But do you think that the CD player is getting ‘old hat’? The MP3 player has taken over as our most listened to portable music player and maybe it soon will in the car too. A lot of Radio CD Players now have an MP3 option as well.

Your Car CD Player can be multifunctional, if you have a Bluetooth CD Radio you can connect to your iPod and iPhone and have full control through your car stereo system. That means that you can make and receive calls, all through you’re in car entertainment system, and be hands free.

In the future, do you think that the way we listen to music in the car will follow the way we listen to portable music? Will the car radio turn to MP3 and become some tiny plug in? Maybe it will. New concept cars are being designed to look more like some kind of gaming machine with no steering wheel or pedals, somehow I think there would be no place for the old Car CD Player in such a machine.

For now though, enjoy your car CD player, play your CD’s to your hearts content, it may not be long before the CD goes the same way as vinyl.
