Most of this items product descriptions lie. The screen is not at all scratch resistant. In fact the iPod screen is more scratch resistant itself. This might not seem like that big of a deal, but chances are if you have a classic, you bought it for it’s space, and probably have videos or movies that you watch. If you’re lucky enough to get a screen that hasn’t had paint from the body flecked on it during the manufacturing process, you still have to deal with the easily scratched screen. If you use the plastic clip insert, you have to be very precise about placement of the silicone skin before you force the plastic part on ( a tricky maneuver at first, but you get the hang of it). Dust is guaranteed to get trapped between the cover and the iPod screen, also a pain when it comes to watching video. Look at what Belkin has, or look at different iPod models.
Also, the seller I purchased this from (Appleware) was extremely unhelpful, and continues to be.

Well, I hate to disappoint all you buyers out there viewing this product. Crimson Red is not actually the color I’d thought it be. It does NOT look anything like the color RED at all. Unless it’s reflected upon the sun, that’s when the true color is shown. But other than that; inside a building, under a light, or anywhere avoiding the sun will show it’s appearance as the color violet or slightly black/purple..

I got this as part of a birthday present for my son. While it took my handy wife’s special touch to maneuver this thing on, it now looks great and offers the kind of protection that my son needs. Functional plus looks = happy consumer. Nice product.

Functionality of this product is fine, but the actual color is magenta/pink, not crimson/red. If you are expecting a deep, vibrant red as pictured in advertising, please be aware that you will not get it in this product.

I do agree with the comments regarding the Classic’s scroll/track wheel. Under this protective skin, this feature becomes at most, 50% responsive. My gripe, however, is how weak the belt clip actually is. On mine it seems to snap off with such ease that I’m beginning to wonder if I should glue the sucker. Yes, I know, bad idea, my point is that the rotating mechanism is very weak. Since I hate miniature screens for videos, the covering on mine does not bother me at all. Come on, the screen is 2.5 inches!
Getting this device into the skin is a bit of a problem, but it will definitely keep your iPod safe from a great deal of harm. Overall, a good product.
