at first glance, the item is very nice. but when you hold it close, there is a distinct chemical odor. I tried cleaning it with alcohol, washing it, and airing it. Nothing will rid of the strong odor.

This is item is probably okay, but it smells and feels very cheap. I already have the backside of my ipod in a rubber case, so it doesn’t even fit in this. It really does feel like vinyl.

high-quality material; inexpensive/affordable; fashionable; distinct odor when held close; securely protects the expensive 2nd Generation Ipod Touch 32G; still plan on buying a screen protector; Ipod Touch’s ports and buttons are still accessible; JUST PERFECT !!!

I thought this case was GREAT… at first. It was nice looking (especially for the price) and had the features I wanted (had a cover and said cover flipped UP not to the side, enough padding). Also, I didn’t notice any smell. The last cover I purchased closed with a magnet — which completely messed up my iPod. This one does use magnetic closure on the “snap”, but at least it is to the back side of the cover and not sticking directly to the iPod, so it is not interfering with my iPod.
However, if you will notice, the top layer of the leather just above the volume control… it is just flapping in the breeze. I wish it was attached at the corner above the volume controls because now it is so loose, the iPod is always slipping out. Especially when my children are using my iPod, which is when I need it protected the most! (Some versions of this case are connected above the volume controls, for a tighter hold.)

I received this case as a gift for my 32Gb Ipod touch and it fits perfectly. I really like how it’s not bulky. My Ipod is secure while it’s in my purse or sitting on a table, etc. and I can leave the case on while I listen to music. This case is definitely worth every penny!
