I bought this product because it says it works with ipod touch 1st Generation. This is not true when I plug the receiver in to my touch it reads will not work with this device.

I received this as a gift, and no where in the instructions does it tell you how to use it if you are not waering Nike Shoes. Having said that I used it with non-Nike Shoes and a holder, designed specifically for it. I ran for almost 10 minutes and it said I had only gone .10 miles! I’m not a fast runner, but thats even slower than me.

It also has no GPS, so if you want to calibrate it and don’t live near a test track (the high schools near me are not safe and the tracks are not open to the public), you are SOL. I guess I will have to use both my iPod, with this, and my iPhone with the free Run Keeper program at the same time to figure out how far I am really going.

I haven’t tried the website yet, but I can’t imagine it being very helpful if it can’t even get the distance correct.

Product shipped quickly and was marked at a great price. Even with shipping the price was lower than most retail stores. Will definately recommend this seller to anybody looking for the Nike + iPod for a low price!

This product may be fine if it is actually inserted beneath the insole of Nike shoes. However, I’ve tried it in the Marware sportsuit sensor case (basically, a shoe pouch that attaches to the shoelaces), and it is all out of whack in terms of calibrating distance…which in turn throws off the calculations for pace and calories burned. I checked out Apple’s website and found at least a dozen other people who had had similar problems, even after calibrating the device. As far as I could tell, no one had found a solution to the problem.

I got this product a year ago and I was using few days good and other days won’t work because the sensor in my shoes won’t be recognized by the ipod sensor so it’s a pain in the neck to get it to work for one or 2 days and then won’t work at all. This is the bad thing about sensors!!! Other thing is the battery life of the sensor is hard to tell when you need to replace it because it has nothing to take out not even a light so if you turn on or off the sensor or the battery needs replacement you can’t tell because all it has is a button which you pressed in but you can’t tell if it is on or off, if it’s working, if the battery is wasted.. I hate now that I spent like $40 in this when I could have gotten a heart monitor watch or something like that, don’t buy anything that has sensors specially if the sensor does not has anything to tell if it is still working….Waste of money!
