this head unit is great. the usb connection is fabulous and the unit is particularly good with ipod functionality. i wish it worked a bit better with htc phones as well instead of just apple products but that’s okay it’s still livable with multiple usb-based solutions. better than the 9887, so it’s a win for alpine in my book.
i’m using it to run polk db6501 components only and the 18w of rms power is enough to get the job done, but if you really want to scream or if you have demanding speakers you will need a good amp separately.
