CD Players and Electronics

I purchased the previous version of this unit – 2.5″ screen. I liked the product especially for the price – you can’t beat the price. HOWEVER, you get what you pay for. I’ve had it in for service three times in the first year. It was covered under warrantee, but I had to pay $25 for shipping each time. Now it is out of warrantee and it broke again. The problems were as follows:

1. Face plate would not open to access DVD.

2. AUX (iPod interface) did not work.

3. DVD did not eject.

4. DVD would not eject

The repairs took about a month to turn around each time. I had to remove the unit from my car, pack and ship it each time. It cost me $30 x 4 = $120 in shipping. Customer service was good about accepting the unit. However, now I have a unit that can not play DVD’s and is out of warrantee. It is worth getting fixed since it will probably go bad again.

Functionally, the unit seems good. However, the volume doesn’t seem to go loud enough. I often listen to talk shows and pod casts. I have to turn the volume all the way up and still have trouble understanding sometimes. Also, my unit gets VERY hot on the back. I noticed this one of the four times I had to remove the unit. I may use it as a grill or auxiliary car heater when it quits working.
